Carbon Dioxide
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is an inert gas used in the suppression of fires. CO2 is remarkably good at reducing the oxygen content in the atmosphere to below the point sustainable by most fires, however it has its drawbacks, namly the toxicity to living things, such as humans.
Due to the limitations of CO2 it is mainly used within areas that are unmaned or do not have regular occupancy (such as industrial plant).
