The Model A-PC Fusible Links are fixed temperature releasing devices that are thermally actuated. They are tested and listed for use with ANSUL restaurant fire suppression systems through Underwriters Laboratories (UL/ULC). The fusible links are designed for straight pull load applications. The A-PC link can withstand a maximum continuous load of 40 lb (18.1 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 5 lb (2.3 kg). Both the A-PC links operate in the same manner. When the fusible alloy melts due to exposure to heat, the fusible assembly compresses, allowing the assembly to release from between the two halves of the fusible link. The R-102 Fire Suppression System incorporates a flexible design with an extremely effective ANSULEX Low pH Liquid Agent.
ANSULEX quickly knocks down flames and cools hot surfaces, while generating a tough vapor securing blanket that helps prevent re-flash.
The R-102 system is designed to protect areas associated with ventilating equipment, including hoods, ducts, plenums, and filters. It also protects auxiliary grease extraction equipment and cooking equipment such as various types of fryers, griddles, range tops, broilers, char-broilers and woks.
The system is ideally suited for commercial kitchens in fast food chains, retail food courts, diners, convenience stores, catering facilities, mobile food trucks, hotels and casinos, stadiums, schools, hospitals and more.
The R-102 system is cooking equipment friendly and offered in two designs: Appliance-Specific and Overlapping.
The appliance-specific design aims the nozzles at the specific hazard areas of each appliance.
With the overlapping design, the nozzles are arranged to overlap and provide a "fire-free zone" throughout a group of appliance.

R-102 History
Ansul was created by Francis "Frank" G. Hood in Marinette (USA) in 1912.
In 1978, it was acquired by Wormald International, an Australian corporation.
In 1990, Wormald was in turn acquired by Tyco International.
In 2016, Tyco became a member of Johnson Controls (JCI).
Ansul now exists as a brand of the Tyco Fire Protection segment of Tyco International.
