Fusible Links are fire systems products that are thermally actuated tension devices at a fixed temperature.

The fusible links are generally designed for straight pull tension load applications with a variety of Minimum and Maximum Loads. There are primarily Two different types of Fusible Links:

Thermal Bulbs
Alloy Heat Detectors
Typically when an Alloy Type Fusible link reaches the appropriate temperature, the alloy joining the two halves melts due to exposure to heat, allowing the tension (exerted by the continuous duty load) on the halves of the assembly to release the two halves of the fusible link, triggering an activation of the suppression system.

Thermo Bulb links are held together with a liquid-filled glass tube which bursts at a pre-determined temperature, allowing the link halves to separate.

They are tested and listed for use with restaurant fire suppression systems and industrial fire suppression systems through Underwriters Laboratories (UL/ULC).

The Ansul SL link can withstand a maximum continuous load of 50 lb (22.7 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 3 lb (1.4 kg).
The Ansul A-PC link can withstand a maximum continuous load of 40 lb (18.1 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 5 lb (2.3 kg).
The Kidde Thermo Bulb can withstand a maximum continuous load of 50 lb (22.7 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 0 lb (0 kg).
The Kidde ML link can withstand a maximum continuous load of 40 lb (18.1 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 10 lb (4.5 kg).
The Kidde A link can withstand a maximum continuous load of 45 lb (20.4 kg) and a minimum continuous load of 3 lb (1.4 kg).
